The Dogue Brasileiro was first started in the 1980s in Brazil and was mainly used for protection against carjacking. It is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Boxer and the Bull Terrier.

The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in any of the breeds in the hybrid.

Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

Dogs can be a huge responsibility depending on the dogs shedding habits. It is important to be mindful of how much time you want to spend cleaning up the hair or fur that your dog sheds, as well as providing the appropriate amount of hair brushing, haircuts, bathing, trimming, and ear care.

The Dogue Brasileiro sheds moderately.

Temperament: Tolerant, Protective, Loyal, Friendly, Cheerful, Affectionate

Health Problems: N/A
